So, I'm constantly hearing about the "less is more" fact when it comes to men's makeup... would mineral makeup be a good choice? I hear it get's runny when it comes in contact with sweat and tends to rub off on other people which means no for sports themes and close contact scenarios. I've used up my clinique foundation and am looking to try something new.

I do a lot of "do your own" makeup shoots so this stuff will have to work under lights an camera...

So... what to all you wonderful stylists (and models in the know) think?

I'd stay away from mineral make up. Most reflect light negatively in photos. What kind of coverage are you looking for?

Just something to even tone and (the important one) smooth out skin texture. It's important that I keep the weight of the makeup light though since guys shouldn't look like they have a lot of makeup on... at least not for my next job.

Mineral makeup usually has a lot of mica in it which marketers refer to as "light reflecting pigments" can be shiny and sparkly depending on the brand.

My recommendation is cinema secrets palette or concealer in your chosen skin color, rice powder (my favorite) or any transparent loose professional setting powder...calmex for the lips.   Ultimately, a makeup artist is best, especially for grooming the model - but in a pinch these items I noted will work wonders.
