The above is a starting post in which volunteers will be listed with their avatars, a link to their profile page, information to include city, state, country and contact info.

I will eventually turn this list over to an experienced model with a heart for work such as this. I am here just to kick start this idea and hope it brings help to the industry.

I'll bump this a few times then let it fall away if there is not interest here.

I see photographers helping models in List#1, photographers helping photographers in List#2, and I feel there will be models helping models here so I'll hang for a while and see if I'm right about List #3. smile

I've heard models say they wished someone would mentor them. I thought this was a great idea. Anyone interested, before I hang my head and walk back through the fog to List #1 and List #2?

I would like to be a mentor, if you would have me. I'm all for educating the masses, especially with all the misinformation given out in these forums.

I've always taught to make-up artist and hair stylist.
Anything they want to learn I'll share my ideas.
As far as the term mentoring. I don't like titles.
I'm no better than anyone else and I treat everyone as an equal.
I don't like the - I'm the teacher and your the student.
Because, I'm also learning, and I'm also learning from there mistakes too.
Any one that wants to learn, I'll show you how I do it,
but I also charge too.

If you volunteer here you won't be paid monetarily but you'll be giving from the heart and that's where your returns will be. Has someone helped you? If so, "pay it forward". This isn't the place for Ego. Hang that at the door before you enter. Now let's teach someone what we've learned.

Sign up now if you have something to share. smile

Aaaw, that's sooo sweet. I figured, I spend a quite a bit of time in the forums, why not give back a little.

I'm always down for making new threads with info for all the new models out there. If anyone ever has any questions, you can always message me here or on my personal e-mail.... [email protected]

Ego? Buddy I was once homeless and I'm not a shame to admit it.
I share my services (to teach) for free all the time. I've had very little to no help. I taught my self make-up and photography and I taught my self the hair styles you see in my port. I also do everything my self....
So, as far as what I can show. I can talk from experience from hair, make-up and photography.........From ground zero and with no experience, nothing.
I'm not a mentor, I'm a friend, I'm not a teacher but I can help.
Like I said I don't titles, but I'm here to help.

What I've leaned is to always be on time.
Don't always believe the hype but, always believe in your self.
Learn everything, (don't let a stylist or photographer try to out smart or trick you)
Don't be catty or gossip
Don't be afraid to try new ways to do make-up.
There are some things that can only be taught on a hands on bases (make-up, hair etc....)
Anything else would have to be taught on a one and one. If anyone has any questions.........let me know...

FYI- One person told me, it can't be done and that I'm crazy.
That person is one meds and is now mental (she had a huge break down).
Don't stop believing in your self........

I'd give it back and say.... I'll answer you question question for free. But at 1.39 that you offered. It may be something worth something searching the answer your self. instead of wasting money.

It would nice to have mentors in the different genres of modeling.
Nudes, fetish, glamour, agency models (commercial/editorial)..

Maybe the new girls (& possibly boys) should specify what type they're interested in.

ps. Craig, can you change my location to Austin, Texas?

& Thank you for taking the time to do all this!

**HAPPY NEW YEAR**

I'm wishing you Happy New Year now because I'll be playing out of state with the band tonight and I have some travel to do today and then tomorrow to get back home. I have realized in the last few days just how much work these 3 lists are and it doesn't show any signs of slowing down so I'm going to ask for a few volunteers to help me run this thing. I don't want to fall behind on the list updates and with helping people who've asked for it but right now I'm working night and day to keep up, (apologies to all my models waiting for edits) so I'm hoping tomorrow to get back home and have some volunteer help. Let me know if you have a little spare time to help with either updates, posts, or connecting people and I'll put you on it.

Thanks all~!!

I wish all of you the very best in 2008~!! Happy New Year~!!

Craig

PS> To everyone here who is waiting for a reply, or to be added to a list, I'm committed to helping each and everyone here connect. The holidays are almost behind us and the kids will be back in school soon and we'll be rockin' so hang in~!!smile

The winners, both *photographer and *model will receive "TOP of the THREAD" acclaim, including a post of their winning image, a brief profile on the winning model including a link to his/her portfolio, and a bright shiny "NewBie of the WEEK" winner medallion for each to post on their profile page~!! Later we'll offer cash and prizes but we've got to secure those Canon and Nikon sponsorships first.....and I'm getting a little ahead of myself here. wink

SOOOOooo....Get your NewBie pics posted so The ToP DRAWER can vote on 'em~!!!

*To qualify for competition the Model must be a NewBie who made contact HERE and the photographer must be a member of "The LIST". Top DRAWER members are eligible for competition at this time but will not vote if they have images posted.

Go HERE and check it out~!!  https://www.modelmayhem.com/p.php?thread_id=228173

Thanks Elle, you are posted on the list now. smile

Yes, I asked Brian Diaz and he said there may be liability issues if MM sanctions it in such a way.

I plan to ask Tyler and will have an attorney friend look at it as well. I do have a disclaimer posted on each list.
