Help! - how to pick pointed rinestones??
I was preparing to my new make-up - I have ordered a lot different crystals. for regular shapes normally I use wax picker. (tweezers are to awkward for me) regular shape - flat top however I have ordered a lot pointed crystals like this any ideas how to pick it? are there any other tools or methods of picking of rhinestones? (I tried both way till now) for tweezers - the bottom rim is too small to grab...for wax pencil - there is no enough surface to catch as rhinestone is round) Many thanks for help Feb 11 13 09:35 am Link Dorota MUA wrote: Craft stores like Michael's or AC Moore sell them with the flat bottoms. But I have set of pointed rhinestones which I would love to use for make-up as this are iridescent and looks far different and shine different then regular (iridescent) ones. I simply looking for best way (hygienic way) of picking it.... Feb 11 13 10:58 am Link There are many bent style tweezers that may work. Try this site just to view some options. http://www.micromark.com/double-bend-de … ,6717.html best of luck Feb 11 13 02:00 pm Link There's some stuff called Embellie Gellie that you can put on the end of an orange stick. It's moldable so you can shape it how you want. I don't know if this could work any better than a wax picker though. Feb 11 13 05:58 pm Link Feb 11 13 07:22 pm Link I recommend the super skinny tweezers that are used in pearl knotting. They are more delicate than regular ones - Just google "pearl knotting tweezers" Feb 12 13 07:56 am Link I use a piece of blu-tac on the end of a cocktail stick (with the end blunted)- hth x Feb 12 13 12:31 pm Link I do a ton of rhinestones on bodies, on masks, on costumes, on a plethora of craft projects. I keep a little box of birthday cake candles on the table. I keep a candle in my hand to keep the wax slightly warmer than the air & use the stickiness to pick up & place the rhinestones. Normally, the glue that I'm placing it on is sticky enough to pull it from the wax. Feb 13 13 08:32 am Link June Long wrote: This is brilliant. I was absolutely struggling sticking pearl type things & little tiny shells on a model the other day. Why didn't I think if this? Feb 13 13 12:39 pm Link I would try a normal q-tip - pushing the point of the rhinestone into the head of the q-tip and placing it where I want it. Feb 13 13 03:52 pm Link |
