Over the years, I'd lost the intensity adjustment knob and the stand adapter knob (the one that tightens the light to the stand - kinda important) for one of my monolights.  Today I decided to call and order replacements.  They put me on hold for roughly 4-5 minutes while looking up the part numbers and when they came back said that because I had to wait so long (?!) they were just going to mail them to me free of charge.

They've handled other issues for me before, and this just confirms it - what a great company, and what a great way to keep a customer - show that you care.

I had a 1250  and left a jack in and in a hurry one day loaded it into my car and broke the connection. I screwed up and they knew it. They fixed it anyway under warranty.
Love those guys and I'm a dedicated Photogenic customer for life.
Besides that, you can blast away for hours with their monos and never get color shift.

Well, they've had one of my powerlights in for repair for 4 weeks now. Customer service never answers the damn phone and doesn't return phone calls.
Last year they had a powerlight for 6 weeks and when they returned it to me $200 later it was doing the same thing I sent it in for....randomly firing and photocell not working at all.
So my experience is, they suck. Tough for me because I have 9 photogenic powerlights of various ages and models...but I won't buy any more!

Yes, like I said, I won't buy anymore.
I will say that the photogenics are very well built and I've had some for as long as 12 years that have never given me as much as a hiccup. So it's not the lights, it's the service that sucks. One time I tried sending one that needed repair to a third party place and they ended up having to send it to photogenic anyway because they couldn't fix it or get the parts. But with digital you really don't need the watt seconds you used to need with medium format film cameras, so as they die, I do think the alien bees will be the ones to replace them.
They don't by chance happen to use the same style connectors as photogenic for speed rings and reflectors, do they??
