Hi I tried the contact-mod system and no reply as of several hours re: the below message.

I drove 100km and spent a fare bit of money to travel 2 more hours on public transit to do a shoot with a model. She failed to show up and kept stringing me along with excuses and cost me to waste several hours waiting when I could have gone home sooner.

Is it fair for me to ask her to travel to my hometown at her expense to do the shoot and if she fails or refuses then can I report her or spread word around this site about her without harming my own membership?

Please let me know. I spent over $60.00 on travel and phoning her several times since her cell wasn't working properly ( as she says). I have 2 other models in the same city lined up for next month for possible shoots and thinking of  canceling my account after next month if this other member doesn't get banned. Otherwise is it okay for me to give a 'heads up' about her stunts so that she would cancel her account on her own? Or would I only lose my own membership?

Outing is not allowed in the forums. If you want to post up about it on your own profile, that's allowable, but be advised that some models and photographers think of blacklists and public outing of such incidents as tacky and in bad taste. Proceed at your own risk.

Personally, I have no idea what you think Model Mayhem should (or better yet, can) do about your situation.

You can post it on your profile if you'd like, although I wouldn't recommend it because it looks childish and amateur.

She won't get banned for flaking.

You can sign up for www.shootnotes.com, it is a system of rating for people that you have worked with from MM.

CAM's often take longer than a few hours, sometimes it will take days. A model flaking isn't one of their top priorities, so it will probably take some time for them to get back to you.

I can't say if she should be banned as I only have one side of the story.  If it is as you say it really sucks.

Welcome to MM. This is not a unsual as you might think.

If you reveal this members name it's outing and will get you brigged or banned yourself.

Only realistic thing you can do is not recommend this person to anyone privately and move on. That is also one reason I do not travel to anyone unless paid. If someone is looking to shoot TFP/CD they come to me or no shoot.

60.00 is money that I could have taken my gf out for dinner or put towards a new computer. I agree with the one reply that the models are going have to come my region for a paid shoot or they should pay me the difference for traveling for I'm also providing a service for them as much as they're providing the service of being the main subject in my photos.

also for 60.00 I could have paid this one girl overseas to make a videoshoot with her own video cam with my instructions and then sell them in an online site where the buyers don't care who filmed the video as long as they like it.

also for that 60.00 i could have ran a few paid ads in my local papers and maybe have a few shoots lined up with models (amateurs) in my area that are looking for extra cash. Then I would have to worry about tying up 8 - 10 hours to do a 2 hour shoot. I already had 2 free shoots with one part time amateur. model who is as good as any of the models here. I only came to this site because some agency reccomended it with a couple of other sites.

Model Mayhem is not an agency its a network you and the model network and come to a mutual agreement on a shoot. If you you feel that you can't deal with the models flaking on mm then try booking an agency model at the going rates. Also since mm is a network and models and photographers are doing photos that they need to better thier portfolios and parts modeling is not high on thier list of things to help thier portfolio. But in your favor is that any model that agrees to a shoot should show up and complete what they agreed to and not flake on a shoot, but flaking is a fact of any online modeling site.

Next time offer to pay thier expences to come to you and if they flake you only invested your time waiting at home rather than traveling long distances and being stood up.

it may seem funny to some of you but how would you like it if I laughed at something bad that happens to you?  I may just broadcast her name and get myself banned it would be worth the sacrifice to see her reputation here black-eyed.

The cost of doing business, my friend.  If this is the first time someone has flaked on you, you're either brand new or exceptionally blessed.  Roll with the punches and simply don't use her again.

You don't understand. Flakes happen. A lot. This is the internet, what do you expect?

You really have nothing better to do or worry about? Christ, if it means that much to you then send her an invoice for your gas and time wasted.

And if you out her, it won't look bad on her.  It'll look childish, immature and AMATEUR on your part.  You'll be the one with the black-eye, trust me.

when you paid to place your ad and got no return off of it would you be calling the company to complain and want your money back?  if taking your girlfriend out to dinner was more significant shouldn't you have been doing that instead?  it is unfortunate that your shoot did not work out; however, short of her being involved in some illegal activity it is unlikely that you could get her banned from the site and I do believe you are over reacting...just a touch maybe smile

well maybe this model will get her karma dished out back to her someday because what goes around comes around. I was recently scammed alot of money  by a idiot named Paul Christie and now the rest of my life is screwed and at times  i thought of ending it all so I could be at peace and free of all the pain.
