Does anyone here use this meter? If so I'd like to get some feedback. I'm deciding between this meter and the L-358. Any information would be helpful.

yes - what would you like to know?  How do you intend to use it?

besides the obvious built in spot meter on the 758...the 758 makes more advanced things easier if you are willing to learn it and can profile your camera (with some effort).

Are you planning to use pocket wizards?

Unsure at this stage...just don't want to spend the money on the 358 only to determine in 6-months that I should have spent the extra dow on the 758. I currently use some aging Impact lighting with softboxes, umbrellas, and a few spots but I'm considering an upgrade soon and want to use strobes when I make the leap. I guess I'm just gathering information to make an informed decision at this stage.

I have the 758 and love it. With that said there isn't any reason you shouldn't get a 358. If you get a 358 with the pocket wizard addon thing you will be happy. i know several people with that meter. Its not as fancy as the 758 but it gets the job done and well.

Exactly the type of advice I was hoping for. Thank you very much.

i agree - as much as i like my 758, the 358 would do 98% of what i need.  the extras are mostly just extras.  i do like the camera profile limits on the graph.  it makes it easy to tweak without resorting to histograms.

I just ordered a Sekonic L-308S.   It should arrive tomorrow.   It's a very basic unit but from the specs I believe it should do everything I need it to do.

Of course the day after I ordered it I read an article that said with a digital camera, a light meter is obsolete - you can do everything you need by looking at the histogram (which is what I have been doing).   It was otherwise a credible site, but that struck me as bunk.
