Ok, is it me or does the Elinchrome  Ranger RX 1500 Watt/Second Ringflash look EXACTLY like the Hensel Porty Ringflash and the Lumidyne HRF1 Ringflash?  Other than the Lumidyne HRF1 has LED Modeling lights, they look and feel EXACTLY the same!

Does anyone know who is really making the lights?

THe Elinchrome battery pack looks extremely similar to the Hensel Porty too...

Yes, they (Hensel and Elinchrom) are manufactured by the same company, but have minor differences (both the pack and ring flash). I owned both and settled on Elinchrom's as I like Elinchrom's light banks, etc over Hensels.

I bought on ebay for the studio where i am the manager FotoProd this product with a standard name, made in Japan, visiting the hensel website i was so stunned that i discover that Hensel just put only their brand on, and i've seen the same product with different brand names, perhaps the octogonal softbox only seen on Hensel.

quite a bargain around 650 € with two battery and very easy to manipulate, more than others.

It says guide number around 52 (without soft cover), just remember that you can't use a short/small lens with cause your the camera handle and your fingers make the distance minimun, i generally use a zoom, like the 28-70mm ƒ2.8, perhaps you can use the flash handle only...

I found it on ebay just now and cheaper but i do not have bought it in China but in England..
