i have read the threads here. people use mostly 22" BD for head shots. and within certain feet.  is the mola Euro good for half to full body?

I'm using the Euro for headshots ... usable for half body if you can live with fall-off ... distance is indeed critical with Mola.

Get the biggest dish you can afford. You can always make it smaller by moving it away from the subject.

But that will affect the rate of falloff from the front to the back of the subject (depth of light). Let's not get into this again... wink

OP: if you move it away it will give a flatter and less soft light and (as with any light source) you will get a wider coverage. If you want to use it for half or even full body shots that will be fine, but it won't really be acting as a beauty dish at any more than about 3 feet from the subject IMHO.

Once again banging head on desk.

Have a great holiday, Stefano.

On edit... I forgot, you're a worthless limey. You don't celebrate the day we kicked your ass and proceeded to achieve our independence! wink

Fuck the King!

Have a great 4th anyway.

Why are you bothering to imply that you disagree with me? Here's a quote from your PM to me after our previous discussion on the subject:-

I understand what you're claiming in regards to falloff when a light source is one foot away from a subject that is one foot deep. Yes, the difference in light from the front of the subject to the back of the subject would be two stops

This was exactly my point here, but yet you again try to give the impression that you disagree. Why?

Have a good holiday yourself - I have work to do!

Key words...

ONE FOOT AWAY FROM THE SUBJECT!!!

For all other {99%} of practical applications your argument falls apart.

For a beauty dish the optimum distance from the subject is less than three feet so I think not.

Have a great holiday - have you started drinking already?

It's an American tradition to start drinking three days  before any major holiday. I'm so fuckin' hammered right now I can hardly walk.

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!!!

I had the Euro but I'm switching to a regular Profoto beauty dish.  I just sold my Euro on eBay.
