Wild Models Inc. Los Angeles
Does anyone know if this agency is a legitimate agency? Or at least know anything about them? Now, would a "legitimate" agency tell you to shoot with their own photographers or would they allow you to find your photographers that will help you build a portfolio and comp cards? These people were not asking for money up front but were asking me to pay for a photographer of their own which included make up artist, stylist, studio and of course the photographer. It also includes comp cards and the actual portfolio. Which by the way, she was very pushy. They changed their name about 3 years ago AND had complaints at their old name. There aren't a lot of complaints or scam warnings under their new name currently. My advice: Apply to the larger agencies and see how that comes back. Then apply to smaller local agencies. Aug 05 09 08:59 am Link I have been with Model management/wild models non exclusively for about a year and a half and they never asked me for any money, had me take any head shots with there photographers, (even suggested it). They have gotten me several jobs and many auditions. Not to say that they wouldn't try to get money out of new and gullible models but if you go to them with good photo's, who knows maybe they can help you out. I get about 2 to 3 auditions a week from them and have for over a year. Not that I fit for all of them but the company does do work for me. I don't know maybe they do try to scam some people but they didn't do it to me, probably cause I would eat their brains.  Aug 14 09 02:36 pm Link That pop up ad is not for Wild Models Inc. Wouldn't say it's a scam, but wouldn't necessarily consider them a legit agency, either. ... legit meaning I wouldn't expect any bread and butter from them. I'm represented by several small agencies in NYC, Wild being one of them. I get a call from them MAYBE once a month. So yeah, Wild is a real agency, just not a real good one. Also noteworthy, that whole "if an agency asks for money, it's a scam" thing is lame. If an agency wants you to go to their 'school' or 'runway classes' or whatever and you pay for them, yeah okay, scam. But agencies have their models pay for comp cards, web site promotion, etc. all the time. A great agency in Dallas has their models pay an annual subscription fee for an online portfolio/promotional site, BUT the difference is these fees come out of what you make during gigs. It's not all upfront and out of pocket. Hope this helps without too much rambling..?  Sep 08 09 10:11 pm Link yes they charge you around $900 dollars for you to submit, they gave me Elke to sign up with a playmate, so I did being told I would get alot of work from them! They set you up with a few websites with open casting calls for music videos, commercials, student films, etc. So its just up to you if you want to pay...I havent found work yet and signed over a year ago. And yes you do have to PAY UPFRONT and about 2 weeks later you get a photoshoot with a portfolio folder and comp cards. Oct 06 10 02:13 am Link BEWARE!! TOTAL SCAMMMMM!! i learned this a couple months ago if you start typing the "agency"s name into Google and the word SCAM is next to the name in the suggestions it's most likely a scam but you reeally should do your homework on them here's another red flag: paying over $100 up front is a total scam you should never have to pay them, they should get you work and THEN you pay them about %10-%15 AND legit agencies don't really advertise..they don't need to hope that helped Oct 06 10 02:27 am Link Michelle A Ramos wrote: I doubt it...since that thread was started over a year ago. He told me it's not a modeling agency, it's for commercial representation. They never asked me for money, never suggested to shoot with their photographer.
