Just giving out your email will not hurt you. You can see how it goes, but you will know if it is a scam when they ask you to forward money or want personal information such as a social security number for some strange sounding reason. But, if it sounds too good to be true to you, it probably is. However, if it is not, it sounds like a great opportunity, so if you don't mind giving out your email, you can see where it leads.

If the other model sent you a msg via MM, why didn't the model just put the photographer's email in their msg to you. If you were interested, you could write him back. I would not give out my email. Just my own opinion.

I received a message from another model, who's been around since March of last year ; 2009 (I think that's pretty credible). She sent me a message that a photographer she knows is interested in someone with my style, and that she is willing to pay $550 for travel and compensation to shoot lingerie, glamour and fashion shots. She just wants my email, and to know if I'm interested so she'd let her friend know. What do you guys think? I would be on my guard and would also be realistic about it. $550 is a very high rate to pay a new model. She may have just asked for your email to send you

Did the model that messaged you on MM message you again on your email and ask you to join a new modeling website?

If it's too good to be true then it probably is a scam.

Ten bucks says the "model" having a conversation with you is the same person as the "photographer." It is highly doubtful that someone who supposedly owns an agency in NYC and Miami would need to fly in an underaged no-experience model, from another country no less, who has only four headshots in her profile, and no stats listed, for glamour and lingerie. Before we were to meet I will need a set of specific samples sent to me via email. Another ten says those will be: "I need nudes so I can see what you look like." Yeah right. Edit: and no website and no domain name for their email either.

Just a question. Why would someone offer you that kind of money to shoot lingerie when you do not have a single lingerie or fashion shot in your port. If it even enters your head that its a scam then it ALWAYS IS.

Fouzia Ghauri wrote: You're right! After I replied back, the photographer asked me to take pictures of myself with a digital camera in a bra and thong from all sides to see the areas of the model ''untouched'' and to see how a model takes the direction of a simple task. She, the photographer has scouts (such as the model who messaged) to find people for a commission. Well, now that we know it's a scam. How would I go about reporting the user AKA the model who recommended me to the photographer who might just be her as well? It's good you found out now! Some people get strung way far along with this. After the bra shots would come the requests for topless and then bottomless and then who knows what. And people fall for it all the time. It's good you were suspicious. Report the profile of the person who contacted you - https://www.modelmayhem.com/contactamod

Fouzia Ghauri wrote: Well, I'm continuing to talk to the model that sent me that ''reference'' to the photographer. I've also received an email from the photographer; it says the following: Hello! A friend of mine saw you on Model Mayhem (https://www.modelmayhem.com/1788708), and told me that you are a new amateur model. I am planning a shoot in August/September, and would like the possibility of shooting with you. I'm Toni, and I own Next Level Modeling based in NYC and Miami. What type of modeling are you interested in? I am going to be shooting glamour, lingerie and possibly a few other types during my planned photoshoot. Also, let me know your prices. I normally pay for travel and the shoot for the model. Please send me an email back if you may be interested! Before we were to meet I will need a set of specific samples sent to me via email. The total compensation for this shoot will be between $500 - $550, which includes transportation/airfare to New York, NY. Toni M. -- The email address of the photographer was just: [email protected] Would you guys like the link of the model who messaged me? I do agree, I am suspicious. I mean in New York, and Miami and all over the US there are more than enough amateur models to shoot with.. And.. $500 is awfully generous for an amateur. SORRY. i didnt see this the first time. YES ITS A SCAM. I have seen this letter before. Do not even email them or reply to any emails. Just ignore future emails completely.

So how is it MM members are able to make pitches like this without mods getting alerted fairly quickly and dealing with them? I can understand if the perps keep moving and creating new accounts but you'd think each account should have a very limited lifespan.

I read it as soon as I joined. I got confused because of the MM member being on the site for so long without being flagged (so I assumed she was authentic).

Sometimes scammers create profiles and don't finish them, then they will come back sometime later and finish the profile and get it approved. At that point the profile appears to have been active for some time. I will be responding to your CAM shortly. Thanks!
