Get the money up front . With any new client be it individual or corporate , the check has to clear before we do anything . If its an emergency production on a couple days notice thats fine but its 100% cash up front ...easy . We are a little different because much of those "emergency" calls are from corporate clients wanting video which takes a crew ... and I couldn't tell my guys that they weren't getting paid because I didn't get paid ...

2 words say it all: "Hi Model" FYI - It may help in the future to take your email off your profile.

The check won't clear, period. No point in even going any farther.

Totally Nigerian scam, Britt! A few clues: - Unsolicited email, out of the blue - "Hello model" - up front large amount to model unknown to them - his Yahoo email address, rather than a company one - Nobody starts to shoot a 2011 calendar on December 18, 2010! - on&on&on...! You got this because you have your email displayed in your profile, and also in both your Castings! I strongly advise that you remove your email from your profile! It is visible to everyone in the world, not just members! It will be like a magnet attracting spams, scams, and perverts! Remove it, and just use MM's private internal messages with members. Don't trust any contact you get solely by email! You will very likely still get more scams for a bit, as you are now on lists worldwide, as an easy target! Do not reply! Do not pass on further info such as address, phone, bank or visa info, etc.! Also visible are MM's Tags, Photo Comments, Castings, and these Forums, so don't put anything private there, either. Edit your Castings to remove it! If an offer is to good to be true, it usually isn't! Enjoy the site! Fred

I myself just like messing with these people and debate with them, tell them I will not accept payment up front and I will collect on day of shoot. Then they tell me there is a registration fee. I tell them to use the money they were gonna pay me up front to go toward that "fee". I think its funny the way they try to scam, but of course I have a lot of time while at work, so I humor and end up proving them wrong and make them look like morons more then they are. I also tell them I have reported their email address as a possible scam artist (there are some sites geared towards reporting model scams)

By replying, you confirm this to them, & they sell your email to scammer lists around the world! Your number of scams will go up and up! Best advice is do not reply at all!

I appreciate your concern, but the email address I give out is specifically for spam and not my main e-mail. They can spam it up all they want. I get at least 45-50 a day. Its my shit n giggles email address I guess you could say, lol.

It is visible to every scammer in the world, and is an open invitation to them! Do not reply to them. That will just generate many more! It works on greed and people who are naive! They send an amount that is too big, tell you to deposit it, then quickly send the extra amount on to someone else. (MUA, etc.) After you do, you find out their original payment is no good, & it is actually them that you have sent the extra to, which is now lost!
