bodypainting for photography
I do bodypainting in addition to photography and am having a hard time making a living in oklahoma even though my photography is decent. Does anyone out there need any bodypainting services for any photoprojects they have? I would be willing to give some discounts to the first few people to book me and pay for travel. I could use an escape from Oklahoma again anyways, lol. Has anyone else worked with special effects and bodypainting in their work on here? I have done and will do bodypainting but the old fashioned kind with powders, acrylics, and oils not airbrush but I know my way around a spray can so it should be the same basically. Maybe I will get an airbrush soon, But the best are in the strip clubs of Japan and asia. They are so fast and great it is amazing to watch. May 17 05 10:40 pm Link But is that really the answer, how is that different from some jackasses who have tried to sell photos of MY STREET ART WORK as theirs, I have talked to lawyers about it and I am in the right. Yes, street artist but not really grafetti people talking to lawyer, wow what a world we live in. If you photograph my painting up close you cannot have the copyright to it or the image. How close is close? I need some art of noise music to write this. If one is creating art and not just helping out then where is the line? Look at the career of a friend Varuska the model from the 60's. She has more claim to the images than the photographer does. No is an easy answer but not always the right answer. It's used for the Seattle Fremont Bike ride during the Solstice parade. A lot of people on that list have a lot of contacts in the body painting world. (me on the left) Sep 03 05 10:17 am Link I would suggest contacting Neal Rue (https://www.modelmayhem.com/member.php?id=572) who works often and successfully with Pashur (https://www.modelmayhem.com/member.php?id=1727) on collaborations. In fact, they had a shared booth in the exhibit hall at FetishCon - although they were rarely BOTH there - one was painting and one was shooting! MOst of my work is with Dan Hood, we created SecondSkinImages as a partnership with equal share in the creative work. It has helped us both in our respective careers. If a photographer or client hires me then they own the copyright of anyimages that they take. BEcause the original work is mine I retain copyright on any images I take, OR I ask for them to give me usage rights to a few of the images they take. I do view bodypaint work as ENTIRELY different from regular makeup. WIth regular makeup you may end up with a different flavor, or style, but unless it is a makeup specific shot the makeup is not the main focus. With a body paint shoot, the bodypaint is the main point of the image, or the bodypaint and model are both the point of the image. I figure if someone wants a bodypaint shoot done, it is to be the focus of the project where someone applying lipstick and eyeshadow is to enhance the project, but not to be the focus of the project. (There ARE exceptions) Pashur is a great bodypainter, and more importantly in this case he is working his a$$ off travelling the country to get more work and increase his visibility. I think if anyone out there wanted to hire him, or Bryan, myself, or Mark Greenawalt that any of us would be glad for a decent opportunity.
