Street Photography : Your Latest Image
a lot of good stuff in here. I could never get in to street photography. It never really gave me that fulfillment I needed. When I was in hs I used to take a lot of pictures of students on campus that was fun because it gave me a chance to interact with my piers. I think that is what documentary photography is all about. getting intimate with the subjects. the whole fly on the wall thing never worked for me. and a viewer can tell. there is a different ora about an image that is "the personal." Mar 02 12 10:24 pm Link So when doing street photography, does one just simply take a photo of a stranger or do you approach him before you do so? Do you guys use tripods or do you just do it freehand? Mar 03 12 01:31 am Link Johnny Nava wrote: It depends the person I want to photograph and the situation... I don't use a tripod on the street unless doing long exposures. Mar 03 12 04:09 am Link Johnny Nava wrote: Yes. Mar 03 12 11:20 am Link I don't do it very often. I would love to take close portraits of strangers though, it's just hard for me to approach. Mar 03 12 07:51 pm Link Mar 03 12 08:33 pm Link . I used to do a lot of this in college, over 10 years ago, need to get my camera ooot and get my arse into gear and shoot some. Actually going to visit my wee gran in hospital today, now does that count aint the street but she's 86 i'm sure I could drag her arse outside :p Mar 08 12 03:18 am Link Last sunday, I was supposed to have a photoshoot, but the studio owners got my client to pay for a day where they were not open that day. So, no shoot. it was a bust. I went to a mom and pop coffee shop for the first time, just down the street from the studio place, and I fell in love. The place had so much character. I saw a flower on a table. It spoke to my senses. Mar 08 12 04:03 am Link Taken with an old film camera. I was with a street photographers group. Mar 08 12 10:57 am Link . Mar 10 12 02:26 am Link .
