Excuse my ignorance, since I've never attended a large group event like this. But let's say I pay my model admission, and arrive with my own hair and make up assistant, and get into an elaborate costume. Is it more acceptable to organize a shoot with a photographer before the event? Or is it better meet someone on location and team up with them for a shoot on the spot?
I ask because I'm not sure I know any photographers that would be interested in attending this event (and paying the fee), but I'm always open to meeting and working with new people!

I would suggest that you organize a shoot time with a photographer before the day of the event. Sure, you may be able to set up an on-the-spot, impromptu shoot, but we generally have very few cancellations and/or no-shows for this event. I wouldn't rely on pick-up shoots if you're going to invest in elaborate wardrobe and hair/makeup.
There has been considerably more activity on the Facebook event page:
Now with the event starting an hour earlier, does that mean doors will open at 8am and we can start registering then so that shooting can get underway promptly at 9am?

They generally open the doors 30 minutes before the start of the event.
we've talked with a lot of you, but have only confirmed a couple of slots.
check our page if you'd like to set a time in stone for OSR.

We still have 4 slots open to work with photographer, Greg Ramoni and 2 slots open to work with April Ramoni as an MUA or Model. Schedule available on our page. ALSO, if anyone is interested in a custom headpiece, please let me know ASAP. EXCITED to meet everyone!
I am really looking forward to this shoot. This will be my first time at OSR and I look forward to meeting as many people as I can. If anyone would like to do anything with me I am open to just about anything. So far I am available all afternoon, just send me a message.
We are tackling a huge endeavor this year for our annual "OSR Project." Please PM me or email me at littlealice06@gmail.com if interested. We need a few more models for each location, OSR included. I will be styling as MUA, wardrobe, and creative director. Graffiti Photographic will be the main photographer. My husband, Jordan, will be assisting, and Alec Masterson will be filming. We will be filming our editorials for an artistic documentary. We will be using clothing and accessories by several different designers.
Im still looking for makeup artists, possibly hair stylists and maybe even wardrobe atylists to work with. My schedule and who Im shooting is on my profile- please message/email me if interested!
