I realize these are different products, but does anyone have any guesses as of to what might be used for large areas for stenciling like these examples? Cinema Secrets or Kryolan are the only ones I can think of for matte color.

I don't think anyone can ever guess what was used (with maybe a handful of exceptions)... but I did find this by looking up the artist listed in the credit:
