If so, what's your layout?

Mine at the moment....has zero organization. -_- But today that's my goal, because I'm lame like that.

And while we are on the topic of organization, anyone follow feng shui when arranging furniture and the like?

My fridge is organized.

Top shelf: Small items like leftover containers and thawing meats
Second shelf (left):  Milk/cream/juice
Second shelf (right):  Eggs
Top right drawer:  Cheeses/cold cuts/bacon
Bottom right drawer:  Firm vegetables/herbs/garlic
Bottom left drawer:  Fruits/soft vegetables
Door:  Condiments/butter and the occasional two-liter bottle

Freezer is not as organized...LOL.

No feng shui for me.

Veg in the veg drawer, milk in the door, sauces + condiments above the milk in a shelf. The rest is a free-for-all, but I keep potentially risky meats (chicken, etc) on the bottom shelf.

That said, I only really have one shelf. There is adequate space for cider though.

Yes

Top shelf Orange Juice,Milk Carton Juices

2nd shelf eggs, Fruits

Bottom Shelf  Juice boxes, Gatorade, water bottles and anything that is a six pack or more.

Bottom Drawers  vegetables

Shelf on the door. ham & cheese  on the shelf with the tiny door. Other shelfs on the door for condiments that need to be refrigerated.

The best way to thaw meat is to put it (sealed in a plastic bag) in a pot of tap water for about 2 hours.

Air is not a good conductor--water is.

veggies in the drawers, cheese in the door, meat in the bottom shelf. condiments in the middle..milk and juice in the door..as for the freezer...it's a battle every other week to see how much i can cram in and still shut the thing, they make em so small. .yeah i have no creativity.

Big Fridge:
Three shelves = starchy vegetables, and root vegetables

Veg drawer = leafy greens

Door = salad dressings (I make my own and put them in little jars), almond milk

Little pull-out thing between 2nd & 3rd shelves = tofu and tempeh, miso paste

Little fridge:
Fruit (I have a whole separate drawer just for oranges)

My system is: food goes in the refrigerator.

Occasionally keys, remote controls, various bottles of cleaning liquids, and on one occasion a package of light bulbs. Not intentionally.

My boyfriend likes to buy packages of things, eat/drink most of it, then buy another package of it. Which is why we have four mostly empty ice cream containers in our tiny freezer.

I've lived with people who had that habit before.

The idea of eating all the contents of one item, disposing of that package, and then opening the new one --- it just baffles them for some reason.

The door is for condiments, eggs, and drink bottles.

The veggie drawer is for veggies and fruits, the tiny drawer is for cheese, lunch meat, etc. The shelves are anyones guess. wherever something fits.

In my high school in the early '70s, our biology lab had a fridge built into the wall, to store experiments and samples. One summer the building was locked down and its power totally cut off. When it was time for school to resume in the Fall, they realized they'd forgotten to empty out the fridge three months before.

Rather than open the fridge and expose whatever toxic nightmare they imagined had brewed in there, they bolted a steel strap across the fridge's door and never opened it again, at least until the building was demolished a decade or so later.
