I think everyone has missed a massive alarm bell that I saw. The 17 year olds story sounds like a load of garbage?

Regardless of age, if someone can't be honest I wouldn't work with them.

The problems arise with laws that are written to be deliberately vague
. The reason why people are wary shooting minors is because the laws surrounding child exploitation are very open to interpretation, and even if a jury finds you guilty of nothing, the entire process of defending yourself in court can be a traumatic life changer, especially when the press labels you a child pornographer prior to the trial.
One of the images in my port was shot when the girl was 13 or 14. I was a friend of the family, and had the trust of both parents and model.
I made sure I did nothing to harm that trust. Since then I've also photographed both of her weddings.
