For some strange reason - I'm in a positive mood - so you get the benefits!

Tough love or sweet nothing, you decide - but I'll find something positive and honest to say about your work here.

Line forms to the left, and goes until midnight...

I learn more from "tough love" but a few sweet nothings now and again fall nicely on the ear -   let it be as you please

Well that makes it easy: YOU HAVE GOOD TASTE! Ha!

OK Seriously:

First: DREADS? (I wish!!) - and the overall enthusiasm/energy/investment into your photos. Having fun and creating!!

You have a lens that can capture planets! JEALOUS! (Blue Saturn?) smile
And while "walking the line" is a train-tracks shot - it does have a nice mood/story.

Nope - you're in that tough category of "almost" - almost good enough to be jealous of, and almost glad you're not the local competition.

Probably some advice I need to listen to myself on - some of your work deserves to have some of the older (less good) stuff removed so that the newer/better work can shine.

Tough love: details and editing. You've got the models, and the lighting is pretty good, now it's the little things that will make the big differences.

Haha my lens only captured the bottom half of that picture =P

...And the pic that was used to create the planet. So I guess that still counts?

True enough - I've culled 20 images recently and need to remove more - but I find myself *attached* to some of them even though I know they are not my best...

I've also been lazy about updating my MM port with images from new publications, which are better than the average here -

and you're spot on about details - it's always the details -

Cheers

Tough? hmmm... Ok.
Just my suggestion...

Something someone told me when I was starting - "Shoot UP." - always work with people who will make you look better, will push you to make better images.

There's depth / intensity in a couple of the shots - you need to find photographers who can bring that out more - and don't be afraid to go get them!

Cute/innocent in some shots and independent/strong in others. Great skin color

Tough:
Get an avatar that shows you off - It's a cool pic for a photographer (moody and dark) - but as a model - it doesn't show YOU...

Love: The Bald (for the art) and the Skinny with braces (suspenders) for the vibe- i'd like to see more of that style/theme (in general not just in your portfolio) - something nostalgic about it - but I don't know why.

How about a little of both? I can take criticism, but it works best with a dose of encouragement. smile

it only comes with the happy flavor today... (the "make them cry" thread starts tomorrow...)

You have a lot of photos.
(That's the positive way of saying get rid of most of them)
There are some nice "real" people portraits - which is fine - but for MM you might focus on "what makes the models look best and shows my skills the best."
The easy example - the woman in the suit with the swim goggles and the wrench- while it's "fun" - it might not be a good example for "selling your skill" ?

Thanks for the feedback. As a relative newcomer it's good to get honest opinions. smile

You look like you have a happy spirit - with a bright smile - but I think the picture where you seem at peace and relaxed is the one that shines!

as far as "help with the portfolio": without knowing what you're trying to achieve, I don't have any specific guidance.
Obvious suggestions like "shoot with people who create the images you're looking for" and always try to grow are about all I can offer.

What to say? Beautiful, captivating and a little goofy.

If I had known you were that close - I would have swam from West-Terschelling to shoot with you (I was there on a business trip earlier this summer).

Thank you! I am having lots of fun! No delusions here. Making a little money as well always helps too. Very hard finding photographers in this area with vision. sad Thanks again!

Very nice variety- a little bit of everything (Bonus for the "candid" you shots so we know what we're working with! )

It's raining and gray here in Seattle - so I'm extra jealous of the sunny beach shots!

I like the more serious casual look (the brown in the field) - there's "story" in that look, some life experience  that shows through. Nice!

For all new people - I'd say: be picky, shoot with the people who can get you the images YOU want - learn posing and which angles YOU look best from - and relax and enjoy it!

Interesting - I guess the hard part is that I can't really see any detail in the chain to see your work except for the shots on the white torso. It looks like it would be amazing to shoot (lots of details and tones with reflections and texture...)!!!

If I were you - I'd get a photographer or two who can show off YOUR work not just the women wearing your designs - after all, that's what it's about ?
