Benefit High Beam + Photography
Anyone use this for shoots? I love how it looks in real life, but I'd like to know how it translates into photo. Thanks! Dec 06 12 05:18 pm Link For me is not working good. Not easy to apply with some foundations, and needs be smudged well, with precision - applied in rush often leaves irregular patches...for me is hard to control.. I love VIVO Baked bronze - healthy glow. gives perfect shine, easy to apply.. you can't go wrong with it even when you are rushing. Dec 06 12 06:08 pm Link Thanks for this. I'm curious to know what the opinion in the board is about some other liquid highlighters. May 06 13 02:52 pm Link I've used it and it's been fine, but it's not one of my faves. I prefer Nars Copacabana Multiple, Madina Chic & Shine, MAC cream color base in Pearl, MAC pigment in Vanilla, Benefit's Watt's Up and the Ultrasheers by FA. May 06 13 08:24 pm Link I used in on the lip in this photo https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/30787750 I know that I have used it as a highlighter in the cheekbone but I can't remember if I have any closeups in my makeup portfolio using it I much more in love with the gold shimmer in one of my Nars palettes if I want to highlight the cheeks but I am not as experienced as the others who have posted in this forum so far but I have been dying to try the Copacabana stick But in general I love benefit -- it takes while getting used to and a little goes a long way with the Benetint products. May 06 13 09:58 pm Link I've used it and Stila's All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer several times in my boudoir work without issue. I really like the effect that it gives, but the lighting will make a difference in my somewhat limited experience. May 06 13 11:35 pm Link It works like a charm for me. I've used other highlighters, but I seem to be always coming back to High Beam. I have Nars Copacabana (in tube), but it's just nowhere near as mildly milled and sometimes gives much more of a shine, where the Benefit just gives a glow. I will even mix the High Beam with concealer if I need a light reflective one under the eyes. But I will definitely try the Temptu ones. :-) May 07 13 03:14 am Link Jocelyn Marie Morris wrote: My favourite is Illamasqua Gleam which is a cream, Aurora is a lovely champagne colour and works wonderfully under and/or over oil or silicone based foundations. Although ive successfully used it over MUFE Face & Body (waterbased) just patting a little in on top with my fingers. They've just bought out a bronze version called Supernatural I think, looks lovely for dark skin. May 07 13 01:20 pm Link I use it all of the time. Just make sure it's blended well and it will photograph beautifully. May 07 13 05:40 pm Link Thomas Van Dyke wrote: I went and purchased this today. I'm looking forward to using it. Thanks! May 08 13 07:49 pm Link I use Benefit High Beam as an eye primer for fairer skins with pink undertones. Smashbox Soft Lights powder in Lens works great as a cheek/nose/orbital bone highlighter. It's a staple in my kit and looks great on camera! Otherwise they can be hard to blend evenly to get that effortless glow Jul 23 13 05:05 am Link It can work beautifully. You have to use it MINIMALLY. Like on the back of your hand then dab it out with your fingertip to almost nothing then apply. Here I have used it with Watts Up both under the foundation and on top. Its all about minimal application with products like these. This is a shot from my Iphone. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid … =1&theater I screw up embedding images all the time so heres the link lol Jul 23 13 05:11 am Link For highlighting and contouring, I use the Ben Nye Fireworks Fantasy Wheel. DOES WONDERS!! ;D Jul 23 13 10:19 am Link Tara Pags wrote: That is a one gorgeous image. Beautiful job on the makeup Jul 23 13 10:33 am Link |
