Hi all, would really appreaciate some insight into how to correct color on this image. The fingers, hand and arm are wrong and my first attempt here was not so good.

Just match colors by numbers, use the info palette, sample the color you like and then sample the target area, create a curves adjustment layer and match the numbers, then mask out and paint the color.

Ive heard of that on this forum before, matching the numbers, and I have no idea what that means. You lost me on create a curves layer, how do I match the numbers? When i open a curves layer I dont see anywhere to adjust or enter values.

matching colors by numbers is just a starting point then you go by eye if anything but from the samples I see here you have no problem with that.  I like the color correction on second image, good job.

Oh thanks. The photographer suggestion some corrections and thte hand looked old, and it did. I shuld now by now that if I questions it myself someone wlse who knows better certainly will...lol. I just lassoed the hand and arm and borught up the curves. Then I lassoed again and did a saturation layer in colorize. I matched the tone as best I could and then just played with the opacity. But I was afraid it was too gray still, or if maybe I should sharpen it.

I still have to improve the color on the lips...but thanks. Im still learning photoshop and most of it im really clueless about. If it was for this forum I would still be using PP.
