The only tattoos I'm glad I got were the ones I didn't get. I have none.

When I went off to the military, my dad (an Army retiree) told me not to go wild on my first leave in San Antonio and get a tattoo. If I wanted one, think about it and take my time about it. One of my buddies got a really fucked-up eagle tattoo on his upper arm. REALLY bad tatt. He was real proud of it until he saw the dismayed expressions around him. Then he got this sick look and one guy said, "Dude... You're stuck with that for LIFE." I never forgot that kid's expression.

Of course, I could have shopped around over the years and gotten a great tattoo, but I wouldn't be able to donate blood for a year after getting inked.

Why the heck were you naked?

I have 3 tattoos and regret none of them.  Two are Marine Corps tattoos and one is a gecko.  It took me a long time to get them and plan on getting a Marine Corps tattoo for each time I reenlist.  Right now I am looking for the design for my third motto tattoo. I have until 2016 to get it, so I take my time with my tattoos.

My oldest son has recently been diagnosed cancer free so I want another tattoo to commemorate that.  Also I want one for my youngest son.  I love each of my tattoos and wouldn't get rid of them for anything.

You said you wouldn't be able to donate blood for over a year after getting naked.

I wonder how many people without tattoos regret not having one.

hmm

I think it's different for people who don't have any, they can obviously choose to get one at any time. It would be much harder have one removed

Similar story....Ft Campbell KY basic, first weekend pass 4 of us went into Hicksville, got a room and bought a couple of fifths.

Later that day we were wandering around Hopkinsville & passed a tattoo parlor. I kinda thought about it, but knew my ma would stroke out.

Out of the 4, 3 of us got one.
2 out of 3 woke up the next morning, looked in the mirror and said, "WTF was I thinking"?

No, I didn't edit it. You quoted it. So did Small Fruit Pits.

Quit trolling.

Yep. I have plenty of scars I wish I didn't have. sad

No tattoos though. I love them on women but it's not for me.
