I have received this message:

Hi Natasha , I would like to hire you for 2 nude photo shoots in New York, NY. Travel and hotel expenses are paid for. Your flight and hotel info would be emailed to you before you fly out.  I would need you for 2 days in New York. The first shoot would be a playboy style nude photo shoot for 400 and the 2nd shoot would be a erotic nude photo shoot for 600. Total compensation for both shoots is 1000 dollars. We provide hair, makeup, and wardrobe on set. I can provide you with references of models we have previously worked with. I can schedule you anytime after next week. Send me your # so we can talk further about scheduling.
Solace Photography, 535 5th Ave. New York, NY

I have worked with a few photographers from New York, but Ive never been asked to fly there to do shoots. Im comfortable with going out of state and I have asked the photographer to provide me with the references he stated to have. One thing is, his profile states hes new to MM and has very limited information as far as his experience. Im aware that most clients dont normally use MM for casting. Im just curious as to what this means and if maybe I should just write it off as a scam altogether. I am comfortable modeling nude and thats not a problem for me. Just the overall randomness that's making me think twice about the situation.

Likely to be a scam - google is your friend

Google that name at that address together - and you get

Nothing.

I'm sure you would get a 1800 dollar "check" that you suddenly have to pay the hair and makeup people with

and you can "keep the 1000"

he's using Empire Office for office rental

he could be using it as a studio, or for anonymity

even with the abundance of model talent here, people fly others out all the time, and those rates are not outrageous per say

tread with caution, check references yada yada

I form some of my companies intentionally with titles to not have SEO ranking on google, so not having an online social presence alone doesn't really tell you anything. Not all photographers are marketing

Yep there is a Solace photography. Is the offer legit is the other question?.....That address might just be a rental space as stated above....if you google just the business name it does register....

Thank you guys so much and please pardon my ignorance. I've been spammed over and over again by these "New York photographers" first beginning with my response to a casting call for a part in Wrong Turn 6. At first I was so excited because I love the series. Then shortly after realizing the money they were offering had to be well over the entire film budget and the fact that I had no prior acting experience, nothing made sense. Also I was very taken back by the fact that the "company" continued to contact me after I had respectfully declined their offer and pointed out the inconsistencies in their claims. Obviously I'm not the only person in the USA that could fit the part. Still pretty confused as to what they were trying to accomplished with me...

If it makes you uncomfortable then you got your answer...no need for further discussion on it really.

I'm not saying it necessarily makes me uncomfortable I just want to ensure I'm making the right decision in continuing making plans with them. If this were a scam, other than the usual money laundering scams, what would it be? I appreciate the feedback by the way. Also the MM# of the profile that had messaged me is 2867217.

Why would a NY company bring in unknown models from NC ?
Why does a legit company have no web presence ?
