I'm liking this shot a lot but I'm not sure if it's portfolio worthy. Just wanted to get some other opinions on it as well as an overall critique.

I think you could use it.
You don't have too many dark portraits like this.
I'd crop the bottom a bit though
Like up to her hair or at least elbow

Well, I am not a photographer...but I think it is absolutely beautiful.  I, as an aspiring model would love to have a photograph such as this of myself in my own portfolio!

I think the crop just below the elbow is a little odd.  I think I would like it more if it were a bit tighter.

LOVE the face and the photography aspect. But then my eyes go down and it gets awkward. I can't pinpoint it, but either her elbow is too big or her waist is too small (like, weird small) but something seems off in that area.

so I think maybe a bit more work, but other than that great picture!

Thank you! I totally agree that her waist is oddly small, I actually fattened up her arm and waist!

A truly fascinating portrait. I just sat and stared at her staring off! But it definitely needs a much tighter crop. Elbow line looks wonky and super thin waist makes me look down there instead of her face.

I have to agree, a better crop should do it! Aside from that, I like it!

and I have nothing against small waists, it's just that (like you say) it looks a bit odd here. I would "fatten it up" a little bit more still (it's not a lot that needs to be done, but just a little push could make a difference), and maybe her elbow a bit more elegant compared to the rest of her arm. other than that, it's awesome smile

think the BG color is a poor choice - did you use a bounce board to get more light into her eyes?  And it would lessen the nose shadow .Need some more light in the hair IMHO

I like the cropped version, just wish I knew why people love to cut off the top of models' heads. hmm

Amazing image, but def use the cropped version, she does look unnaturally thin in the full version. Love the darkness of it though, and the background.
