Not getting paid to be in a magazine?
So, I just recently started modeling and have no knowledge of many things in this industry. I was offered to be in a fitness magazine and was told I am not getting paid. Is this common? Is there any suggestions on how to check if the magazine is reputable? Apr 07 13 04:54 pm Link Tony Saunders wrote: Quick search on the MM fourms, ask around, google the name of it with "Scam." Apr 07 13 04:57 pm Link I agree about checking for scams. It is however not uncommon to be unpaid for editorials, even major magazines (like vogue) only pay models a few hundred dollars. Apr 07 13 05:01 pm Link Thank you for your inputs. I will definitely continue to do more research on the magazine. Apr 07 13 05:08 pm Link They should give you a release form..make sure to read it over before you sign Apr 21 13 07:28 am Link they are right , its not uncommon to not be paid for such things all the time. for me if i wanna build more of a portfolio , ill shoot for free, only if its legit. If people ask never say your brand new to the buisness. people like to take advantage of new people. if this magazine didnt show you what they do or give you a site or exc... dont do it. you shouldnt have to google theses guys, if they really want you theyll make sure they get you.
