In a good way... smile

I went to the concert yesterday and we were only allowed to bring personal cameras, no pro gear...

What else can you do with a point and shoot at night in low light from a distance?

Digital Zoom and play artist by painting with light. AND notice the flash that fixed the guitarist in place? I was trying to do my captures riding on the backs of the press guys up front shooting with their pro gear and setting up the flash for me to help fix the image. smile

I got a few great shots that way. smile

The guitarist is Duane Betts, Dickie didn't show up, he had an infection... or at least that was the story they told.

I call this shot "Duane on Fire".

Better compacts allow you to shoot manual. Up the ISOs, newer llamas are pretty good in the noise area. Aperture wide open. I have the Sony HX20 and Canon G1X and I'd probably take the HX20. No flash, the stage lighting will do. Do your white balance.

I hope you were using "riding on the backs" figuratively and that all you were doing was shooting off their flashes.

The reason I ask is that I've had people literally use my back or shoulder to get their shot. Without asking if it was cool.
