I was a D*Con regular back in the 90s. Thinking about coming back this year as I have an invite to share a room.

I will be there for sure.

I don't go to for-profit cons like Dragoncon. Worldcon's more my style: Smaller, friendlier and less aimed at extracting money from me for every single thing.

Is this anything like A-Kon or any other anime convention? If so I might go, if not I might just stick to San Japan.

There is a comic con in the Tampa Bay area for August which is easily accessible to me. Thinking of going to that one.

Will you be there as a vendor to sell your photography service or just for personal fun?

I'd love to go, I've been cosplaying for years and I heard it's centered around that, but I'm already booked at Baltimore Comic Con the week after. Maybe next year

Haven't been back since 2001.  Miss it, I think it is one of the best of the major cons.

I really, really wanted to go-- I love, love, love, love scifi/fantasy tv/books (everything from Doctor Who to Supernatural to BSG to Stargate to Lost Girl to Continuum to TVD and Trueblood).

But I can't afford it, unfortunately, and also, it seems like too much of a monumental task (finding the panels, finding food, finding parking, etc etc) to go at it alone, and NONE of my friends are scifi geeks lol.

So, alas.

I couldn't care less about the anime crap, though, I hate graphic novels, comic books, and anime with a passion that's probably fairly ironic considering my love for scifi/supernatural.

I'm going to Worldcon in San Antonio if I'm recovered from ankle surgery. Always a good time.
