I was a bad boy yesterday -- I had "roasted garlic & sea salt" potato chips for lunch.

I'm amazed by how many different chips there are:
...  Potato
...  Corn
...  Sweet Potato
...  Veggie
...  "French Fries"
...  and so forth.

And there are tons of dips, salsas, dressings, etc. to eat with them.

So, what are your favorite chips (brand names okay), and how do you like them?

If alone:  http://www.kettlebrand.com/    Black Pepper & Salt or Japaneno

If with hummus:  http://www.stacyssnacks.com/   Simply Naked.  Bagel Chips are fun too.

Doritos nach cheese. Hands. fucking. Down. lol Perfect amount of "crunch" to go with a peanut butter sandwich or a pickle and cheese sub. I have a thing for contrasting textures, and get very bored with a meal if it's only got one-- ie, yogurt, etc.

I am amenable to Cheetos (original flavor) and Fritos in a pinch, but only ever as a stand alone snack, I can't imagine pairing them with other food XD

When I was a kid I loved Pringles sour cream & onion flavor, but now I can't abide the gross aftertaste.

Cascade Pride - regular thin potato chips.

Taste like fried thin-sliced potatoes with a little salt.  They are always fresh and tasty.

They have no need for anything else for flavoring.

Rufflles
French Onion Dip

Besides black corn chips & guac, what else is there?
They're the holy grail.

Sour cream and onion.
Barbeque.

I permit myself to eat potato chips maybe twice a year.

When I did eat chips more frequently, I used to get Tim's. Thick-cut, fried in peanut oil and seasoned with sea salt.

My cardiovascular system thanks me for not knowing, but what's the difference? I thought fried pig rinds were fried pig rinds.

Pork rinds have more air than cracklin's.  Cracklin's are much denser and nommier.

To get real cracklins, you have to be rendering lard.

Chuckles. I got so tired of "authentic" English F & C in America that I actually went out and bought a deep fryer so I could have **real** F & C from back home. Nothing quite like a nice fillet of cod done up in a simple batter (smothered in salt and vinegar along with the chips).

Nope. Soccer. I say what I mean and mean what I say.

When I eat fish and chips, I know it's fish and French fries. And when I eat chips, they're thin slices of fried potato or stout triangles of fried tortilla. And when Brits talk about chips, there's a translation I must do. Same for Adam.

In thinking about it, I like good ol' plain potato chips.

I want to taste potato & not grease.  I've tried baked potato chips, but they taste artificial to me -- they certainly don't taste like potatoes.

Sometimes I try Cheddar & Sour Cream flavored potato chips, or Onion & Sour Cream flavored, but for the most part, I'm happy with the plain stuff.

I don't much care for dips.  Or perhaps I care for dips too much -- onion dip can be addicting.

I do like corn chips, and I do like blue corn chips (and yes, they taste slightly different to me).  Sometimes, I put shredded cheese & garlic & scallions on a pile of corn chips & nuke them until the cheese melts.

I love french fries, but they are not often on my diet.  I'm getting good at making oven fries, but if I'm going to do that, I tend to make stuffed baked potato (which is going to be dinner tonight).  I bake a large russet, split it open, scoop out the flesh, mix with the shredded cheese, sauted asparagus & shallots, add diced ham & shredded cheese & a little butter and plenty of salt & pepper, put a little more cheese on top, & broil until the cheese is bubbly.  Very filling.

Sweet potato fries are the shit. With chipolte mayo... yum.

I also really like pringles, just not the original flavor, cheetos (not the puffy kind), and the waffles and chicken flavored lays chips.... don't judge me ha ha, I know I'm not the only one who enjoyed the odd taste of those.

I try and avoid chips because they are one of my downfalls.  That and cookies like Oreos and Chocolate Chip.

Since I was a kid I loved Onion and Garlic.  Then I discovered sour cream, Salt and vinegar, barbecue, pork rinds, Cheetos and the list goes on.  I even love those veggie chips.

The problem is, although I have self control, it's so darned difficult to resist.  I've been know to eat a whole giant bag by myself in one sitting. No bueno.

When talking about traditional potato chips (as opposed to fries):

1) Lay's Classic (ie. plain)
2) Ruffles Original (ie. plain)
3) Lay's Ketchup

For fries I like 'em crispy and salted with some ketchup and mayo.

I'm also a big fan of plain corn chips but those are hard(ish) to find in Canada.

And when a dip is involved: Tostitos tortilla chips.
