I just reluctantly registered for PhotoVogue since all the cool kids are doing it and was thinking of uploading a picture.  I read that they require some sort of model release for the model in the image.  I have no model releases for any of my images unless it was for stock, and I'm not uploading those.

Anyone can tell me what do I require to submit a picture?

On a side note, do any of my shots have a chance for inclusion?

I cancelled my participation, but it seems like a release was not needed for the basic submission.  Now if you want the picture to be picked up by someone who pays money, I think you can note that you have a release.

From what I can make of their acceptance routine, they seem to be looking for things that are slightly odd that create a mood.  Your lovely photos may look too much like catalog work for them.

Just FWIW if they are doing business in Italy, which I believe they are, ISTR that Italian copyright law actually requires the consent of the person in the photograph for it to be used / displayed. It is also possible, but I would have to do some research on this point, that Italian data protection law also requires it. Or both do.

I think I will still need consent from the model(s) for submitting images.  Not sure if I need a signed release or something of that nature.

Thank you. Yes, I know my current work is very catalog-like and commercial but that's what I think potential paying clients would like.  I would need to do some artsy editorial stuff for PhotoVogue, though.  Just trying to get my name and work out there to more people.
