Old Time Hockey...
Sep 24 13 08:14 pm Link I miss the days when if someone did something heinous, you can have your big brother punch them out without worrying about getting arrested. *Not that violence settles anything but sometimes it's called for. Watched this video thinking it was some old time hockey footage, then realized this was a game just a couple days ago or so ... and a preseason exhibition game at that! I missed the news on this, so Chris, thank you for posting it. I felt bad that it started with Corey Tropp hitting his head on the ice proceeding the rest of the fight where the goalies even mixed it up. My thoughts on this is that the Leafs and the Sabers both should be ashamed. Why? Because this particular game doesn't mean anything. If this were a playoff game, or really important in the standings, then I could understand a crazy bench emptying brawl ... but come on! I like a good hockey fight as anyone, but timing is everything! A bunch of 10 game suspensions for what? Pride? And Kessel ... what the hell was that? Him poking with his stick but not throwing punches makes him look worse. It's foolish of those players with the season barely starting. But yeah, like old time hockey alright, eh?
