Hello guys,

I am newbie in the world of retouch and also on this site. I am learning almost everyday and really enjoy in this things.

This is my try of one of the contest photos. I would like to hear your comments, what should I maybe improve, what I am doing wrong, is this close to some "professional" look retouch?

Every comment is welcome! Thank You very much! smile

Welcome to this crazy and amazing world!!

To be honest the main idea is to keep it looking natural unless you are going for a crazy/fantasy look stated by the photographer/client. The first thing strikes to me is your image is lacking on texture, you have lost all the texture on skin and its looking now plastic fantastic, what did you used? Also why are you changing the lip colour?

One piece of advice that was given to me was.... If ain't broken don't fix it.

Best

Hello Javi!

Thanks, I love this world! smile

Yeah, I lose a bit of texture because I played at the end with offset to get some misty look, which I think now, was bad idea. Actually, when I zoom in, texture is well visible, but I think I ruined edges with something.

Skin is still my weak spot. I am doing it over high pass and surface blur method. Sometimes looks amazing, sometimes looks awful. Next step is I guess doging and burning and practice, practice and more practice. Anyway, thanks for the comment!

Cheers,

Zelda
