For all of you awesome makeup artists out there specifically for the bridal industry, what are your strategies for gaining clientele for weddings? I currently have listings on The Knot and Wedding Wire, have rave reviews, a ton of experience in bridal, but am not getting too many bites.

Do you all have some approaches or strategies that you have found to be effective for booking brides?

Please feel free to take a look at my website. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time!

Bridal Marketing...

strategies that you have found to be effective for booking brides?

Christa a significant number of my bridal clientele come from referrals... and remarkably a sizable number have either directly or indirectly come from Mayhem gigs... I constantly strive to build goodwill and perceived worth within my market... To this end have focused nearly exclusively on clean beauty narratives and avoid avant garde... in the end it is the mother of the bride that I'm closing...

Have you nurtured an enduring professional relationship with those you've collaborated with here on Mayhem?

I have  had a Wedding Wire profile for three years and have not book a single bride as a result.  I thought it was just me in the beginning until a friend who I freelance for from time to time told me last year who by the way  has hundreds of reviews and last year booked a record (for her) of 112 weddings that NONE of them were because of Wedding Wire.

90% of the clients I do book are referred to me by photographers, or other industry professionals I have worked with I  the past.  I also try to participate in at least one bridal show every year to get me name in front of brides and it is an amazing way to network with other wedding vendors.   Hope this helps and you have a fruitful wedding season!

The Knot and Wedding Wire are a waste of money according to what I have heard and experienced. My wife decorated cakes for weddings and got nothing from them.

I am blown away by the number of errors in my post! Some things just shouldn't be done from a mobile device. smile

I have also been told to never pay for advertising, The Knot and Wedding Wire might be just a waste of money if your not getting any leads.
