I know the rule is no cell pics, this one is even blurry! But I love it. Do I need sense knocked into me? Or is this photo an exception to the rule??

It doesn't help to "sell" you.  Save it for Facebook.

There are far better photos in your port.

I think it is a fine selfie but if I were you I would use a different photo for your avatar.

Fine shot--if you like it, go with it

What everyone else said, you look alright in it but you have others that are better for an avatar.  Plus it's not bad when it's a tiny thumbnail but blown up, cell phone quality makes my eyes bleed.

i can see why you want to use it, but the eyes closed thing feels a bit distracting, one eye looks sort of closed and the other eye looks closed completely its like you were unprepared and blinked or something

i like the idea of it though, good job by you big_smile

Well it's your port so do what you want. But for getting the attention of other professionals there are a dozen better images in your port.

I think it's a unique photo that looks cool and it draws my attention but as others have said too, is different from the others in your portfolio.

So if you just want a cool photo for your avatar, you go it, but if you want the avatar to show your main style, it doesn't do that.

Yes, it looks like a low quality selfie.

MM takes itself a bit too seriously, especially with branding and "how you sell yourself"

The avatar should show who you are, as well as what you do. It succeeds, even if you do have much stronger work in your port, it's all about how you want to be seen

It is not rocking my world, would suggest a stronger imager to replace it

Wish you well

Everybody is so diplomatic, not only would I not have it as an avatar I would not even have it in your portfolio. If you think I'm off base see how many lists and comments you get on it and then you will have your real answer.

I'll remain diplomatic, but still ask... does the list/comment count really define the quality of an image?

If so, I better start spamming for C4C??!! in shout so the quality of my work improves wink

I agree, I see model profiles on here that are populated entirely by selfies! I think MM should have a report profile feature to bring these "models" to the attention of the administrators. Seriously some of these are profiles that are 5 years old and the "models" are still active on the site. I put "models" in quotes because I am certain these are people that throw a few camera phone pictures up here so they can say that they're models, without having to actually do any modeling.

I really like it, but this should be your Avi based on your current portfolio.

FWIW: I know a very famous photographer submitted iPhone images in a very prestigious photo contest and came in 3rd. His DLSR images from the same setting won it. Moral of the story - it's not necessarily the camera...

Perhaps you are far too close to this image, and you need to step back and analyze it.

You could also be 8 months late to the party.
