What "sucks" about them?
Do they make less power?
Did they change some other rule / factor of the competition?
Or do you just not like the sound of turbines and wastegates?

I read that some people didn't like it because they were quiet: Engines lacked the roar of last year.

Listening to that youtube video on my laptop I thought they sounded awesome, then again I like turbo cars.

Hybrid power -- racing engines have changed. Lighter, more powerful, more efficient.

An Illustrated Guide to F1′s Radical New Engine

"At the heart of the 2014 Power Unit is a 1.6-liter, gasoline-powered V6 that spins to 15,000 rpm. The engine alone makes 600 horsepower, while two motor generators add an additional 160 ponies to the party. With two fewer cylinders to work with and a turbocharger pressurizing air inside the block, the pressure inside the V6 will rise to 200 bar -- 200 times the pressure of the ambient air you're breathing."

In the future, F1 cars will be running on electricity with no drivers. When that happens, society will see our love for loud, "gas guzzlers" with human drivers as barbaric !

I think there must be multiple mistakes in how that article attempts to explain the engine. Because I know a little about engines / turbos and that shit makes no sense.

1 bar = 14.7psi (1 atmosphere)
200 bar would then be 2,940psi.
Which would be ridiculous in the first place, and secondly if that was true, why is it making less than 1000hp?

Also it says 'pressurize the block' ...shouldn't it read "intake manifold"?
