Looking for some constructive criticism/critique to update my portfolio!! Please be kind but don't hesitate to suggest that I remove anything! Sometimes its better to have a small amount of amazing images rather than a collection of mediocre ones smile Thanks so much!

Hi REbeccah, hope you are well.  I made comments on all your photos- feel free to delete the comments as they are intended for you and I find many problems with your work. But I do think you can do much better IF you work with higher caliber photographers.  I would suggest stop fooling around and waiting and waiting for free pics to build your port but spend $600 and work with a competent LIFE STYLE photographer who can do ward robe and good styling and hair and make up.  I really dont see many pics that capture your appealing look.  I would change your avatar maybe to pic 1 or 7, as this profile shot is just your neck really.

good look.

Your book is ok and would probably work well in some secondary markets, but at 5'8 and in LA, it had better be awesome for you to have any real chance at working here for real clients.

Markets like LA have a lot of commercial work which implies both still and motion work.

Your book needs to highlight your ability and personality on camera.

Moving forward pay attention to the styling and make up, vary the clothes to reflect the kind of work you think you are suited for and test a lot.  Your next set of photos need to really pop and none of these do that.  They are nice photos of a pretty girl, but they fall short of the wow factor you need to make it in an "A" market.

You are in a tough spot. Most people on MM have really awful shots or really "cool" ones that are sadly useless in a commercial setting, yours are not awful at all. You are quite pretty, there is nothing wrong. Your search is for the wow moment.  Not easy.

What I first noticed is a sameness of expression... and not one smile anywhere.

Work on varying your expression to fit the mood of each photo.

I agree with Mark, youneed to find a photographer who can up your portfolio a notch or two. Your minimal makeup and makeup looks are very different (in a good way). A photographer who knows how to work with an MUA and stylist can make WOW! shots with you. It may seem strange but I would advise you to dump the Vogue shots. They do absolutely nothing for you - you are a prop.

Good Luck!

You have a great look but you need to add some photos that will help to make you stand out from the crowd. I would like to see a few different looks in your portfolio that would show more of a range. Show more personality with attitude. When I am looking for models I want one that can really perform and give me a variety of different looks. I want extraordinary, not just ordinary if you know what I mean.
