What can I do to look "prettier" in portrait style pics?

I like the hair style and color in your avatar.  And I prefer you without glasses.  However the cut of your jacket suits you.  (No pun intended.)

The photo could be better, it has a bit too much red, a little over saturated but it's not horrible.

Practice in front of a mirror - work on smiling and different expressions. Make sure your eyes and lips and pose match your expression. Try to relax in front of the camera and play the part. It's acting but without dialogue.
