I read a few critiques on here and my first impression was that they were a little harsh. But then I looked for myself and found the replies to be totally valid. So I value your opinions, and would like a healthy critique of my work from a professional standpoint.
As for me, I love to shoot and most people seem to enjoy my work. I haven't ever charged for a shoot, but lately have been seeing my pictures used in ads and for event posters (this is with my expressed permission of course)

So here's the deal. Let me know where I am please! Friends, acquaintances and their friends (like through FB posts) will tell me how much they love my work and many push me to move forward with a photography career. I do value the opinion of people with untrained eyes because face it, 90% of those people just know what catches their eye. However on a professional scale I know I have much to learn.

Which is why I'm here asking other professionals to give me an idea where I stand. I'm going to put on my thick skin, and take to heart whatever is said.

Thank you for your time!

Jeremy have you considered the merit of allowing your work to speak for itself? Just a thought...

This capture has an intriguing narrative albeit you shot her at too low an angle creating canoes of her corneas...

While there are no rules for art...
There are indeed rules for effective portraiture...
Might invest some serious research on the aforementioned...

Btw, if you have been well received on FB perhaps this is an ideal portal for your work...
Possibly Mayhem might not be a good fit if you feel your visual statement isn't being embraced to the degree you perceive it warrants...

All the best on your journey...

Your technical ability seems fine, your choice of subject matter is not to my taste, but that's just me.
