Hi Guys!

I'm really interested in working abroad and was just wondering if you could offer any advice on getting international work?

Or if you know of (or yourself are) a photographer/stylist/mua etc looking for models for international projects.

Thanks!!

Step 1 - obtain the applicable visas/work permits for your trip.

Step 2 - double check that you have (in your hand) the applicable visa/work permit for your trip.

Governments love paperwork - if you don't have the correct paperwork your trip may end before you get on the plane wink

Thank you!
This is extremely helpful!
I will have to look into obtaining the correct visa... wouldn't want my trip to end before it began!
Thanks again smile

Make sure you are dealing with reputable people wherever you go. Laws are different everywhere and there are some VERY NASTY people in places who are much more in control of things than the government of the country is.

Thank you for your response!
I am always very weary with photographers in the U.K. I understand extra precaution is required for dealing with photographers etc abroad!

Thanks again smile

Aside from getting applicable visas and work permits (hint; sometimes a visa is a work permit, sometimes it isn't. It varies by country) and being careful about who you work with, some people may be able to give better, more targeted advice if you share some places you would most like to go.
What are your goals in this?

I would love to go pretty much anywhere. Particularly the U.S. and Canada.
In Europe I'd love to work in Paris, Greece, Barcelona.

I really just hope to broaden my horizons, meet some different photographers from different countries and experience different cultures.

Sorry this isn't too specific. America/Canada are my number ones though!

Thanks smile

US - forget it.

The chances of getting a working visa for modelling the US are vanishingly slim. Pretty nigh on impossible in fact.

Canada - don't know, but very likely similar to the US. I'm sure somebody else here will advise you on that.

Europe and the EU - Yes. As the UK is part of the EU you can work temporarily (eg. modelling) in any EU country without a visa or additional paperwork.

Just my $0.02 etc. etc.

Thank you very much for this!
I did check out US visas and found that obtaining one for modelling would be extremely difficult. I am not so sure about Canada, as I've been told because its a commonwealth country different rules apply - will have to check that out!

Will look more into the EU side of things!

Thanks again!! smile
