So I just finished the shell of my new website. My desire is for it to be as simple as possible, and to have as few images as I can get away with showing. I'm mostly targeting agencies and new models looking to pay for shoots. I have quite a few shoots backed up, so about half of the images shown will be replaced with new work. www.shatterleaf.com So how do you feel about the site, if you were a consumer or first time viewer? The about me/contact page/etc were pretty much just made up in a few minutes when I was arranging pages, so they can be tweaked. Either with an advance button or with the capability to scroll sideways. Also, I always like a photographer photo in the About section- makes it feel more personal! May 11 14 08:56 pm Link It works. It's quick and displays your work nicely. I totally disagree about the horizontal scrolling. Vertical is just fine. If your market goes for the faded-out look, content is fine. It seems to be popular with certain folks, but I think you might be well-served to have a third grouping. Call it vivid, maybe? Show stuff with lots of punch, no flare, just to prove you can do that work, too. May 11 14 09:03 pm Link Michael McGowan wrote: This is a good idea. I thought about having a third grouping for 'look book' style images, some general fashion stuff, less artsy. May 12 14 09:19 am Link |
