The one you have up now is by far your best choice as the avatar, it has strong eye appeal but the logo is a little annoying.

I agree with the avi and I think this one should go:

His stomach looks great and I like the red pants and silver accent but not only is his face lost, all of his head area is one big blob. There's no neck, no jawline, nothing. A man's jawline really stands out in their portraits (to me) as the neck to a female portrait, it has got have that.

If you have an alternate shot with his face that would be great.

I don't think you have any images that would make a "great" avatar.  Perhaps a head shot image would be good to add.
