I change my avatar almost most every time I shoot something new, but good or bad the numbers (views) ain't what they used to be.  So what makes you look? I'll shut up and listen 😜

Black and white/scifi/animals/edgy avatars make me click on profiles.

Usually having my rabbit as an avatar will get me noticed for some reason. xD

A lack of intrigue among other's is a possibility.

Yes, you are in the wrong section. If you want to know people's opinion about it in general you should post in general industry or off topic I think. This is critique forum and people share opinion about specific pictures, portfolios not their general views.
Maybe you could ask mods to move it?

But to answer your question: I only click on avatar (apart if someone directly messages me) if:
1.) It is very unusual and interesting
2.) It great quality and show photographer's skills
3.) The model is super hot and I want to see more of her and bigger picture
4.) Someone says something really smart or really stupid on forum (I tend to look who is this person) but it has nothing to do with avatar actually big_smile

Would I click on your profile attracted by your avatar? No.
