It's actually my favorite Queen song!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaEM4JYFPfw

The machine of a dream, such a clean machine,
With the pistons a pumpin', and the hubcaps all gleam.
When I'm holding your wheel,
All I hear is your gear,
When my hand's on your grease gun,
Oh it's like a disease son,
I'm in love with my car, gotta feel for my automobile,
Get a grip on my boy racer rollbar,
Such a thrill when your radials squeal.

Told my girl I just had to forget her,
Rather buy me a new cartburettor,
So she made tracks sayin' ths is the end now,
Cars don't talk back they're just four wheeled friends now,

When I'm holding your wheel,
All I hear is your gear,
When I'm cruisin' in overdrive,
Don't have to listen to no run of the mill talk jive,

I'm in love with my car, gotta feel for my automobile,
I'm in love with my car, string back gloves in my automolove!

What's your favorite Queen song?

My favorite Queen song is Radio Ga Ga ... though there are quite a few others I like a lot. Bicycle Race, Fat Bottomed Girls, Another One Bites The Dust and Bohemian Rhapsody come to mind.

Aw yes!  There are many!  Bicycle Race and I'm In Love With My Car are a bit more obscure since they don't get nearly as much air play as others like those you mentioned ... Fat Bottomed Girls, Another One Bites The Dust and Bohemian Rhapsody.

I can listen to Day At The Races & Night At The Opera all the way through on repeat.

I'll admit to having led a musically sheltered life for a long time. It wasn't until I got into high school that I came to realize there was a lot of great music outside of what my parents like(d). I'm still learning things each day that it seems most others forgot a long time ago.

It's okay, though. I missed out on a lot of early stuff by a lot of people/groups (Queen included) but it's interesting finding out about stuff that came out 30 or more years ago.  I'm also rediscovering people/groups I knew about at the time but didn't/couldn't appreciate them nearly as much as I do/can now. Queen is one such group. smile

39.

Maybe only a band with an astrophysicist (Brian May) would do a song about a love story screwed  over by relativistic time-dilation.

I almost forgot about that song!  "In the year 39 ... "  from Night At The Opera.  I love it!  Thank you for the flash back!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjuyXR5by2s

I love Queen and got to see them live back in 1979 or so, but it is interesting that one of my favorite songs isn't by Freddie.

An OK song and video. The vintage racing footage was really very good. I recognized Formula 1 driver Emerson Fittapaldi in the video. It's just that The Beach Boys and Jan and Dean did this kind of thing so much better...

You just can't pretend to be a car guy. It's in your blood. You live cars
