I am signed with a modeling agency in a large CA city.  My question is that I have received a lot of MM invitations for side jobs with small boutique owners to model in their online look books.  Is it okay to accept one of these jobs, even though I am signed with an agency? Confused newbie smile

It depends on the type of Contract you signed.Rare is it that your Contract is so exclusive that you cannot get work on your own. They would have to be giving you work every day for them to have an issue with it.As long as you show up on any Jobs they book for you, what you do on your own time is your own business. As long as you do not breach your Contract. You need to get your parents or an Attorney to read the Contract you/or your Parents signed.

Why not discuss this with your agent?

There is no way to answer this question without knowing the agency and which contract you signed with them.  Depending on what you signed, the answer can be "yes" or "no."

I will tell you that I am from the Bay and we see some pretty loose, non-exclusive agreements here.  If you signed one of those, it would be no issue.  On the other hand, a couple of the agencies here use very tight, restrictive agreements.  In that case, you might not be able to do it.

KristinaZ did this agency in a big CA city give you their company name?
