LOL...I got contacted by the same guy! Or, at least, most likely the same guy anyway.

"Wants... needs.... must have... immediate..."

That's 4 out of 4!
It seems that CL really isn't any better than MM.

I also get another typical one:

"I have puffy eyes this morning"

I haven't used craigslist seriously in 7 or 8 years, although it used to be great for getting people to pose for free or at least for what I needed back then. MM used to be great too. Not sure what happened or when it happened, if I just became more picky, I did pick up a few other hobbies, and am only looking for paid work now anyway really.

I don't have money to pay nude models, although I should write up a $150 an hour nude shoot post and see who replies.

Years ago, for fun, I posted as a lady in the San Fran area looking for some nude shoots and wanting to pay. I took the ad down after getting around 150 to 200 emails (or it was well over 100 anyway, not sure anymore). Was kind of interesting to see how the supply and demand is, and it's amazing anyone wants to do that kind of work for a living, tough market.

Just a brief update: I booked one of the 4 models who responded to my recent CL post.   She was excellent.  Had never modeled before, had never answered a CL ad, had only heard of MM.  She kept in touch by text in days leading up to the session, texted me on the morning of, as requested, and showed up on time and ready to work.

There has to be a downside, right?  There is:

She's leaving town! sad

Craigslist has been good to me on occasion.  It seems to be hit or miss.  I do get MM models who answer my ads.  To me this comes across as them being serious about modeling...as they are working at things.  We also tend to finalize a shoot very quickly.

MM is more of a reference for me now...and separates me from the GWC's...even though I know models that don't care if its a GWC or not...as long as they get the money.  MM will likely have less relevance once I get an online portfolio going.  But I'm really far behind on my MM port right now.

I now take back everything I said about CL.

Lately, every time a LEGITIMATE casting is posted, the scammers, fakers, and unqualified photographers flag it for removal, so what's left is nothing but ads from guys looking for an escort or someone to do porn... as if there's not enough of those ads in the 'Casual Encounters' section.

They use macros to log in via proxy and flag anyone they see as their 'competition'.  That way the ad is removed quickly.

CL administration seems to not give a shit.  The problem is easy to solve yet has taken over the way CL operates.

The few times that I did manage to get a legitimate response, it was almost always the same outcome as on MM.  Let's see, babysitter got sick... rescheduled... boyfriend broke hand getting slammed in car door,  "cramps", flat tire, I don't have a car, I'm moving.... that's just a few of the excuses the models gave AFTER they were booked.  One of them even did a full investigation of me before she booked so I know that it's not something I said or did wrong.

Yup - I stopped using CL for anything aside from flipping cameras a couple years ago. I post something once a quarter or so, usually get one or two that could work, but compared to all the awesome responses I get from FB, it's just not worth pursuing. I've spent the past year and a half building up a network on FB, I think I've got half of ENVY's board as friends, (and communicate with quite a few) --- now FB is my go-to spot. I can book pretty much anything, finding models that meet my standards, within a couple hours (aside from nudes, still a bit tougher for tests)

Where do you post on FB that you get responses?

I post on my wall, people show up.

This one ended up with about 30 comments, and 20 private messages.

Usually, I'll tag a few people in the post that I would like to shoot with, and they'll be interested, or if not, they'll tag someone they think would be interested... and it grows.
