I was contacted by a Brad Milton for a paid magazine shoot, at this point it's seeming like a scam but I was mailed an almost three thousand dollar check to pay for the wardrobe and accessories and an additional five hundred dollars for myself, has anyone heard of this Brad Milton before? Should I be weary?

Move from possible to definitely is.
If you cash that check, you're screwed.

That's the notorious overpayment scam. You pay the "wardrobe and accessories" with your own money and they disappear. Then you find the check is a dud, but you have no way of getting back the payments you made. Definitely a scam.

Nigerian Scam  Old scam has been around for dozens of years!
Don't deposit the check! Don't send on more money! Cease all communications. Don't give out your email (or other info) to those you can't confirm!
Don't reply to random unsolicited emails!

Kasey & Silvia (and others) Don't display your last name in your profile, which is visible to all scammers in the world.

Just out of curiosity, were you contacted by him here on this site or did you get an email from him elsewhere?

If he contacted you here, please click the "help" button in the upper right and corner and then "contact-a-mod" and tell us about it.   We'd love to hear about this if it happened on MM.
