Yikes, I've never had that problem before. Apparently, storing them under the bathroom sink is a popular thing to do, but I have a feeling the dark, damp place would be the cause. I don't store mine in the bathroom at all. Not for fears of mold, but if that's a possibility, then I'm glad I keep them in my bedroom. tongue

Yeah, I have old tampons I use in the bathroom cupboard and I'm going to have to throw them out. Even the pads I keep in my fish tank's drawer (don't ask, i have weird places for everything).

I've heard some women carry water bottles in their purses to rinse it out in the stall.

I'd probably just bring that bitch with me to the sink and be like YEP I HAVE A UTERUS.

I'm like that. I never had to empty it out at a public restroom (I am okay for like 12 hours at a time 99% of the time, hence I can do it when I get back home), but that's probably what I'd do.

As I've said before, it's WAY safer than tampons as far as TSS is concerned.

I've found mold on my unused/unwrapped pads before and I've read stories of people finding hidden mold in tampons and that scared me because the plastic applicators hide any mold that may or may not be present. yikes And mold scares me.

Her horror story is very interesting and... embarrassing.
If it doesn't work, I could always try a combo of cloth pads and tampons.

I have 3 sisters and between us we have had well over a century of using tampons and pads. I have never even heard of mold on them much less seen it. Dear Lord, how does that even happen? Store your stuff out of the bathroom and you will be fine. I keep everything in a closet that's right outside of mine.

I feel stupid.  I have never heard of the Diva Cup!  Wow.  On a side note, I have the Mirena so I don't have periods anymore but I do spot a little at the time.  Is it Ok to use for spotting or should I not even bother?  I HATE panty liners and it's not enough for a tampon.

My guess is that it would be more annoying than helpful. How I see it is it's awesome if you have normal to heavy flow, but anything less than that isn't worth it.
