Melo stays in New York
Reports are that Carmelo Anthony is staying with the NY Knicks. I guess the new folks (Phil Jackson & Derek Fisher) had the best pitch. I'm a little surprised -- I thought he would sign with Chicago. Next year, the Knicks will be meh -- they don't have a lot of salary cap room, but after next year, they can start dumping people. All this activity -- Melo, LeBron, Bosh, trades -- doesn't seem like the Lakers are making any progress whatsoever. And sooner or later, Kobe will just be old. Jul 12 14 02:40 pm Link I think when it all came down to it the amount of money he would have been leaving behind killed the Chicago deal, it was reported to be a $60 million dollar difference between NY and Chicago.
