Write something about your work that you are proud of as well as an area you'd like to improve upon. Sometimes viewing things in broad terms can help bring focus to your development. I'm proud of the simplicity and use of lines/geometry in my images. I'd like to develop a more candid feel in my images. Jul 31 14 11:13 am Link When I saw the title of your post, "What makes you so great?" I was prepared to be pissed, but when I read the body copy I realized that you were looking for photographers' ideas about their strong points and weak points. So, nice challenge but the headline could be better. OK, I'll play. I'm reasonably happy with my lighting; I'm getting better at posing models. But I need to get out of the studio and do some things on location. Aug 02 14 08:11 pm Link I like my lighting. It's simple. So are my shots. I love simplicity! Even the editing, which is little to nothing. Either it is going to be black/white, or colored (a little de-saturated; I like washed out looks). That's pretty much all I ever do. And I am really proud of it! Aug 04 14 09:04 pm Link I'm proud of the colors I use and the drama I bring out of everyday locations. I'd like to really focus on what my unique style is, what sets me apart from the rest. As much as I love looking at what other people do and work on learning from them, I want to make sure I don't lose my individuality. Aug 05 14 11:11 am Link Whenever I've taken a really crappy; uninteresting photo ... I discard it! Aug 05 14 08:52 pm Link I have a very scientific mindset. I like to study problems, find solutions, or come up with something new. A man who waits for perfect conditions never does anything. Do the best you can with what you have and get the job done. Aug 08 14 10:08 pm Link What I'm proud of: I think I have a good ability to capture my subject's emotions. I'm competent, I can take a good picture. What I'd like to work on: 1. Not cropping so tight, let the photo breathe 2. Step up my lighting game...sculpt the light, make it interesting. Learn to seek out GREAT light. Get out of bed early. Don't miss afternoon magic hour. 3. Wardrobe, hair, makeup. Needs work. 4. My works needs more cohesiveness / consistency 5. My backgrounds - they suck. Pay more attention to location scouting and finding interesting backgrounds that will make a picture a **picture**. 6. Get better at directing. 7. Focus 100% on fashion. 8. Learn about apparel & understand clothing/style 9. Casting - work with models who don't look like little girls. 10. Be able to shoot in ANY lighting condition and get a good shot. Sep 29 14 08:03 pm Link Absolutely nothing makes me great. There is nothing I can do that you can't do. If you can learn you can achieve. I'm proud to say that I will be published about a dozen times in different places. Tear sheets are on the way! Mostly cheezy glamour but it beats nothing. LOL Sep 29 14 08:11 pm Link My ability to shoot in any style, and the fact that I make my own photographic language. Sep 30 14 04:36 am Link |
