I was just checking through my okcupid messages. I freaking hate it when I get messages from guys who say that homosexuality is a sin in their answers section. If you think homosexuality is a sin, why the fuck would you message a bisexual woman?

My response to him was this- "I have no interest in speaking to someone who thinks I'm a "sinner". Homosexuality is not a "sin". Since that is how you feel, I'd recommend that you never message bisexual women. Every time some guy messages me and I see that that is how he feels about homosexuality, it breaks my heart a little. I love how far the world has come, but then there are people like you that bring us back to the dark ages. *sigh* I am going to block you now. I hope you can get over your prejudices some day."

I just opened a new profile on there tonight. It took literally 15 minutes for someone to message me, and we chit chatted for the past hour, and will probably go get coffee next week. I met my last boyfriend on OkC. That obviously didn't work out. They say the definition of madness is doing the same thing, over and over, and expecting a different result. If I have another failed relationship from online dating, I guess I should stop doing that, because it might be bordering on insanity. Mostly, I'm just sick of being alone, and hurting over a relationship that's dead and gone. It kind of took a lot of guts to make myself start to at least consider going on dates again. I had to psyche myself up for it. I don't take too kindly to homophobes either.

My father has been the person to tell me to open dating profiles.

Technically, if one believes that the bible is the perfect word of a god, and that there is such a thing as sin, then homosexuality (specifically man on man) is a sin, at least according to Leviticus- but Leviticus is obviously the Crazy Uncle of the bible. The case with the other passages is that they are foggy at best and vary on the interpreter.

If you want to avoid sin, you better go through every single garment in your closet and get rid of all those cotton polyester blends.

You actually meet some really nice people on those sites. You just have to wade through a bunch of rubbish, and 20 year old douchebags who "wanna chill wi chu sumtime."

Plus if your daughter screws somebody outside of your people you are supposed to bury them up to the neck in your front yard and then the neighbors can come over and stone their head until they die. People don't do that much anymore either.

Tough luck, guy. No beard trim for you!

Thankfully I'm an atheist so I don't buy into the concept of sin (don't forget to throw out your jewellery too) Most people cherry pick the nice parts from the bible, but give it a read and there the nasty parts are.
