At least that's what I hear some people call it, but I'd love to get a critique.

Of a lifetime, maybe not so much, of a nice family vacation shot, ok then yes. It was February in the cold and snow.
But what you need to take into consideration is composition, image lighting, how engaging the model is in the image with the viewer, quality of color and image sharpness.

This to me might be closer to a photo of a lifetime

Wish you well and hang on

Model and action, great.

Composition and color, not so great.

It's the color that is really killing it.

I can accept what you were going for here but it's just not working so much. The sense of danger that the subject demands isn't quite hitting it.

Looks like an instagram photo

I agree with the others, the color is killing it for me.

Also, the balance of the shot is off.  The horizon isn't level and considering half the composition is the incorporation of the location, you may wish to consider leveling it out and balancing the shot a bit more.

Do you have a crop which doesn't cut off the pin at the top of the frame?

He's the model not the photographer. You really can't blame him for what's not right with it.

The color and the crop does spoil it for you. Sorry.

Well now I just feel like a jackass. smile

I didn't even notice.

I think the shot is actually really cool truthfully, it's just way overprocessed.

I would have to agree with the above. There is alot of things go into a shot of a lifetime, some don't have to be good, just gotten, split second shooting stuff or it is gone for ever, usually life and death or wildand/or crazy things happening. The more control, time and setup time or time to take it,, the more everything has to all come all togather. Could of throwin pins all day, anchored in,, hanging there off the cliff, could be anchored in all day but your not going to hang a pose(or just hang) there as long as you could throw the pins. They will come just be ready, sometime you'll see them coming some just happen, some will test you, some will test you as a person and your mind,, some will be both at the same time and may happen at a shot or any other time of your life,,, it's that simple, lol. Just enjoy doing the job...

ALL THE BEST

I actually disagree with the others on the colour. while i'm not a fan of heavy filters, this works. the composition though is off.
