Anybody here on tumblr with advice on how to make it work for you? I'm trying to branch out and network more and hopefully find a new group of photographers to shoot with. I'm just not good at "new" stuff.

Help.

I'm ginadee-me if you decide to look.

Problem #1 and really it's a game ender, is you don't have any info on your page, unless it's simply not loading properly for me.

marksmithphoto.tumblr.com

Not that my Tumblr is anything special, but it gives some brief info about me right off the bat. (That also appears at the top of any of my photosets linked individually) Menus to view only my work, contact me, etc.

Decide on a hashtag for pictures of yourself (#me, #GinaDee, etc) to make it easier for you to link to pictures of you only.

Then, just like Facebook, Twitter, MM, etc...you just have to network. Having great photos to post (or a theme of sorts, my Tumblr is dedicated more to my art nude stuff lately) only helps. Don't forget the hashtags too, that's how random people find your work.

Thanks. I've pretty much have been staring at it trying to figure out what I should post next.

If it's for networking, treat is as such. Focus on pictures of yourself. A lot of Tumblrs are simply repositories for things that either make people laugh, make people think or make people masturbate. Then there's fandoms (I think that's what they're called)

I treat mine as, like I said, a portfolio geared more towards my art nude stuff. But I've made a few connections on there as well with models, just like Facebook (where I, obviously, post my more G-rated fashion stuff) Instagram and Twitter.

Your bio/about me doesn't have to be extensive. It can even be one word sentences (Model. Actress. Dreamer. Believer. Janitor) Just something to at least show a bit of your personality besides just pictures.

Honestly, since you do nude work, you could build quite a following on Tumblr. But it may be more fans/groupies/fappers rather than photographers or people who you're really networking with.
